Lee had a friend in grade one and two here in Rotterdam. After many years we re-connected and attended a school reunion here in 2014. Today, we travelled to the city of Den Bosch (officially called 's-Hertogenbosch). Rene and Sandra DeVries took us through a day of enjoying Bosse Bollen (a local delicacy of chocolate balls filled with whipping cream), a boat ride through the former sewer system in the city centre, a peek inside the Cathedral (called the Vatican of the North) and a wonderful supper at their home. We enjoyed salmon and white asparagus. We caught a late train back to Rotterdam.
Yes, a day of Dutch delight - from typical Dutch food to the old sewer waterways. We did not expect a dinner with salmon! A delicious delight. We sat outside overlooking the calm fields, cows grazing, a very peaceful evening.
