Leo and Lee Zwaal, both named after their grandfather Leendert Zwaal.

Leo and Lee are two months apart in age and the the two oldest of that generation in the Zwaal family. We had lunch with him today on the Karel Doormanstraat across from the Doelen theatre.

He is well and enjoying life. His memory of events and dates is exceptional as we talked about family members and their lives. He travels to Italy each year for a vacation although he considers Italy a second home. He has never married and has never owned a car or had a driver's license. In the Netherlands, the bicycle is king.

Lee's grandfather sold fruit and vegetables to the restaurant known as In Den Rustwat (In the rest a bit) which is a Michelin recognized French restaurant in east Rotterdam. We went there tonight to enjoy it once more (we have been there 4 - 5 times before).

The evening was superb. Service at a restaurant like this is exceptional. We kept seeing the staff do things that you normally don't see in a restaurant. Afterwards, the maitre'd showed us the kitchen and the original part of the building, which was built in 1592. Amazing.
