On the dike in Kralingseveer lies a narrow two lane road called the Schaardijk, the 'scissor dike'. We spent some time enjoying the views of the dike, what was left of the homes that had stood there when Lee was a kid, and the never ending passing of river boats going to and fro from Rotterdam to further upstream (as far as Basel, Switzerland).
