Rotterdam has always had harbour tour boats, given that it is the largest port in Europe and the second largest in the world in terms of traffic.

We took a harbour tour with the Spido tour boat and saw how much traffic happens in the Rotterdam harbour. Little did we know that the size of the port would grow exponentially over the fifty years. A Spido tour of the harbour, starting at the city centre, now takes a whole day.
