Highway 724 is not paved and starts as a narrow clinging road outside of Canmore. Never mind the width and dust, it seemed all of Calgary had come to enjoy the area.

Mountain goats seem to like the gravel roads, perhaps the salt in the gravel. They are not bothered by vehicles, in fact, they will not move unless you get right next to them

The further south you drive, the fewer vehicles you encounter, although there are still a lot of vehicles parked at trail heads.
