They take the King's Day in the Netherlands very seriously. The main square in Lekkerkerk was blocked off and we proceeded to see a parade of over 70 tractors followed by a parade of over 50 antique motorcycles. Everyone was wearing something orange (the colour of the Royal family).
Later in the evening our nephew Daan started a fire in their firepit in the backyard. We sat around it until after midnight.
We weren't exactly expecting a firepit in the Netherlands. But Daan Lammens had found a large barrel from which he removed the top part. He now uses it as a firepit with chairs around and right next to the water. It reminded us about Zeissler's firepit in Sherwood Park. Dan even burned some pallets this night. Great time!
